Medical needs are reviewed before a trip is accepted. We need to understand what is administered, when it is given, how it is stored, how it relates to meals, and what your veterinarian has instructed you to observe.
Drivers administer medication only according to the written instructions supplied for the cat. They do not diagnose, prescribe, change a dose, or independently adjust a treatment schedule.
Not every condition or trip is appropriate for ground transport. If a cat's health status raises concerns, we may ask you to consult the prescribing veterinarian before transportation is confirmed.
What we document
A clear schedule, prepared before pickup.
Food and insulin
Usual food, portion, meal timing, insulin timing, supplies, storage, and the established relationship between feeding and dosing.
Observation
Normal appetite and behavior, meaningful warning signs identified by you or your veterinarian, and relevant observations during travel.
Contingency contacts
Owner, receiving person, veterinarian, and written instructions describing who should be contacted if a scheduled part of care cannot proceed normally.
Preparing medications
Send exactly what the journey requires—with a safe margin.
Keep medication in its original labeled packaging whenever possible. Provide the administration supplies, storage materials, food, written instructions, veterinarian contact information, and enough medication for the expected travel time plus a reasonable delay.
Do not place prescription details only in a text message. The final written care plan should be complete, legible, and consistent with the medication labels.
